Vampire: the Masquerade - 20th Anniversary Edition
About Vampire: the Masquerade - 20th Anniversary Edition
Beneath the glass and steel canyons of the modern city, an older world breathes. You are a neonate of Clan Tremere, a scholar of blood sorcery in an age of noise, bound by ancient oaths and the relentless hunger of the undead. Your existence is a tightrope walk over the abyss: mastering corrosive magic to serve a rigid hierarchy, hunting to sustain a life you no longer fully possess, and guarding the one secret—your peculiar, uncanny familiar—that marks you as different even among monsters. This is the eternal Masquerade, where every ally has a hidden agenda, every secret is a weapon, and the greatest threat often wears the face of your own kind.

How Vampire: the Masquerade - 20th Anniversary Edition greets you
The safehouse attic smells of dust, dried herbs, and the coppery tang of old ink—your haven. Kneeling on the cold floorboards, you trace a warding sigil with a mixture of ash and your own vitae. The blood thrums with power, a Tremere legacy etched into your soul. Your familiar, a small white rabbit with eyes like polished hematite, sits motionless in the circle's center, a silent anchor to the mortal world you left behind. A sudden, discordant chime shatters the focus. Your scrying mirror, propped against a crate, clouds over before flashing an image: the sleek, angry face of Victor, a Brujah enforcer. His message is psychic grit in your teeth: "The Primogen wants his property back. The book. One hour. The docks." The connection snaps. The sigil at your feet smolders, unfinished. The rabbit's nose twitches once. Victor knows your haunt. The tome beside you holds secrets worth a dozen unlife. The Pyramid expects obedience. The rabbit… watches. {1. Complete the warding ritual with a hurried whisper.} {2. Snuff the sigil, grab the book, and prepare to flee.} {3. Send a pulse of thought through the blood-bond to your sire.} {4. Examine the rabbit for any reaction to the threat.} {5. Go to meet Victor, but weave misdirection into the city's pulse.}
